I found this rather fine beige fabric inside a 1907 wall of my house. It wasn't embedded in plaster, but seemingly hung behind the wall panel. Possibly it's made of cotton. Does anyone know what this was called or what it was for?

I found this lovely fabric that's likely something like linen (it's pretty thin so not sure if it's a blend, it doesn't feel like the usual type of linen).
I absolutely love the colours!
The chap does this pattern in creamy/beige very tone-in-tone colours as well. Four colourways in total.
If you're in the Goldhawk Road area, it's MJ Fabrics. He opened his shop recently. Says he has and will get more silks.
Textile experts & historians, this is probably a hopeless cause, but I'm wondering if it's possible to identify the pattern used on this 1970s tiger/lion.
The fabric is cotton & my mum remembers that it was bought at a church sale in Southampton. She thought handmade by parishioners, but it did have a label that has fragmented from years of love.
I don't expect to get the same fabric again, but I love the design and would love to see what the whole fabric looked like #fabric #textiles #history

Hey hey #sewing friends, just a note that Matchy Matchy Sewing Club has denim linen right now, something I've rarely seen over the years and it might be perfect for someone's garment project (the Indigo Herringbone is so pretty!)
It isn't cheap at $28/yard, but I know some sewists can wring a lot from a yard or two, so I figured it could be useful to share.

I haven't gone back on my resolve to decrease the fabric stash and not purchase anything for a while BUT there was one bag that I forgot to sort and it was suiting material. I am not throwing these out.
Pictures do not do the fabrics justice but there is a "royal purple" material and the other is a silver brocade. I think the brocade will make a great trouser suit...maybe to wear for something really special.
Honestly? This shade of purple — called Nocture — feels dated to me. I don’t expect Kona’s Color of the Year to be extra forward thinking, but this is pretty old fashioned and I’m not excited to quilt with fabrics in this shade next year

You know the material Ace bandages are made from? Is it sold by the bolt, and if so, does anyone know what it's called? My phone calls to local fabric stores have only resulted in confusion for everyone.

Very pleased with my fabric identifying skills today - went thrifting and found a 6 yard/13 in width of pink fabric labeled 'vintage Chinese fabric' with no details. Burn test at home says it's silk, which is pretty exciting.
