mobilize.us/mobilize/event/760

Some details:

"Meet us at Old Spaghetti Factory at 3:45 pm to walk over as a group or meet us at Tesla at 4 pm. We'll be there during rush hour for prime visibility, ending at around 5:15"

"Bring LARGE signs and noise makers. Chairs welcome if you'd like/need to sit"

MobilizeMusk or Us: Peaceful Protest in front of PDX Tesla- Week 4! · MobilizeDElon Musk is stealing our democracy, our data, & our money. Musk and his lawless engineers have gained access to Treasury, Health & Human Services, OPM, Dept of Education...More every day! With Trump's POWER GRAB, they and their crony oligarchs are infiltrating our government to increase their power and their wealth by 4 trillion dollars- STEALING OUR MONEY. We must stand united to Stop Trump - Musk and DOGE. Tesla is the closest thing we have in Portland to Elon, so let us peacefully protest in the right of way/sidewalk in front of the Portland dealership to increase visibility of this issue. Right on Macadam at rush hour! If we get enough people, lets line both sides of the street for maximum visibility. Meet us at Old Spaghetti Factory at 3:45pm to walk over as a group or meet us at Tesla at 4pm. We'll be there during rush hour for prime visibility, ending at around 5:15. Parking is $5/hr at the OSP or on street parking for $2.50/hr. Highly recommend taking public transportation or carpooling- parking will be tight Bring LARGE signs and noise makers. Chairs welcome if you'd like/need to sit.

Report back from Rose City Counter Info:

In the Fall of 2024, several dozen trees in the Harborton Reliability Project area were spiked. Metallic and ceramic spikes were used, and between one to three spikes were placed in each selected tree.

We waited before sending this message in order to give time for legal advocacy groups to do their work, and also to let any traces of our presence decay into the loam.

Now, the project continues despite the efforts of the community, and the area threatened to be destroyed has grown.

It is now our time to get to work to defend forest park.
We will not let them take the earth from us.

Sincerely,
P.G.E. (Portlanders Getting Even)

About a dozen cops showed up to the community free store again tonight. Before anyone had even arrived to set up, Jessie Burke, CEO and partner at The Society Hotel, was standing on the corner where folks usually set up with her husband speaking to a handful of police. Burke has a history of being hostile to the houseless community and those providing them resources. (In addition to everything in this article, she has countless posts on her instagram that are vile) portlandmercury.com/news/2024/

People ended up setting up just around the corner from where the free store typically is on Thursdays. Eventually, the police followed and surveilled from across the street for a while and eventually left. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were thrown off by how many people there were.

I think tonight displayed a successful community defense. While the police were still busy in the initial location with some people who stayed back to argue with them and the police tried to figure out if people had given up, others were around the corner setting up. When I first approached the distro setup in the new area, I was surprised by how many people there were. Not just the usual distro folks and people seeking resources, but others there to support and help keep the distro going even in the face of realtime repression. It wasn’t an ideal location to setup by any means, but people thought quick and didn’t let that ridiculous police response stop the distro from going on.

Portland MercuryCounty Commissioner Candidate Saw More Than $40K Funneled to Her Husband by a Board She OverseesA candidate running for the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners is defending lucrative contracts awarded to her husband by a community organization they both oversee. Jessie Burke, owner of the Society Hotel in downtown Portland, and previously Posies Café in North Portland, is a Multnomah County Commissioner candidate, as well as the board chair of the Old Town Community Association (OTCA). Her husband, Jonathan Cohen, serves as the treasurer for OTCA’s board. Last February, the...

Ok I just drove past several peacocks walking around loose on a residential street in Lake Oswego (a wealthy suburb of Portland). #PDX I honestly have no idea if they are normally out and about like that, or if they escaped. I decided “not my problem!”
