It would have the potential to unleash an existential crisis upon the <a href="https://code4lib.social/tags/OpenAccess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAccess</span></a> movement. By setting the precedent, the oligpoly would seize upon the <a href="https://code4lib.social/tags/ADC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ADC</span></a> concept -- every publisher will start introducing them, and <a href="https://code4lib.social/tags/GreenOA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GreenOA</span></a> — the free, low barrier way of sharing research — will be extinguished. The corporate behaviour of the <a href="https://code4lib.social/tags/oligopoly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oligopoly</span></a> is quite predictable. </p><p>I live in hope... <a href="https://code4lib.social/tags/OpenResearch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenResearch</span></a> <a href="https://code4lib.social/tags/OpenScience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenScience</span></a></p>
