hello fellow white people. it's easy to post "fuck the police" and say "i would never call the police" and listen to millions of dead cops and think 1312 thoughts but! have you considered what you would do INSTEAD of calling the fash? no? how about a lil homework:

deescalation seminar:

12 things to do instead:

not being a bystander:

LOTS of links:

also! learn the local numbers for your city! there's usually a better public servant to call than a fucking pig!

it's easy to boost but it's harder to click one of these links and watch or read it all the way through. but you should do so for at least one of these resources. i dare you

@polyplacophora @selontheweb i find this to be the best of the resources because it actually gives new information on organizations resources and safe intervention strategies as alternatives, where the other links are mostly examples where cops aren't needed. obviously the latter is also important but this seems targeted towards people that already understand the potential harm of police

@polyplacophora @selontheweb
Uh oh... some of these links don't work, including the aaronxrose link.

Can still do a search on sproutdistro for "12 things to do instead," though.

The google docs is currently under construction, so I may check on that at a later time.

@selontheweb Lots of promising reading for me. Thank you.

@selontheweb lol sel i just saw this seconds after making a post u truly are the better version of me 👺

Good to take a little time to back up training and experience even if all this is familiar.

@selontheweb nice collection of resources, thanks! Somehow not surprised to see the UU have guidelines for this

@selontheweb You might want to repost with the "/amp/" removed from the end of the "SproutDistro" link, as that bit causes the link to die...

@selontheweb it's easier to do when you know how fucking useless the police actually are.
